Focus on: Paul Wasicka

Paul Wasicka is a pro poker player living in Las Vegas, known for the 2nd place taken at the main event during the WSOP 2006. He was born in 1981 in Texas. During the World Series in 2006, he finished 2nd and the winner that year was Jamie Gold. Wasicka won $6 million from his 2nd place that year.

He also won a poker championship organized by NBC in 2007, when he managed to defeat poker players like Chad Brown, Shannon Elizabeth, Nam Le, TJ Cloutier, Joe Hachem and Eli Elezra. His prize for that win was $0.5 million.

During the 2007 WPT No Limit Hold’em event, from the LA Poker Classic, he managed to reach the final table and he played against players which included Eric Hershler and JC Tran, finishing 4th and taking home $455,615. He managed to finish in the money at another three events of the WPT, winning in total $0.7 million from them.

Wasicka also took part in the Aussie Millions 2007, where he finished on the 12th place at the Main Event and taking home $95,434 as a result. The winner of that event was Gus Hansen.

Paul Wasicka had in 2009, total winnings during live tournaments of over $7.6 million. Thanks to the 5 finishes in the money from the World Series, $6.19 million come from this tournament.

While he doesn’t have any bracelets at the World Series so far, he does have 5 finishes in the money, one of them a major 2nd place during the main event in 2006. As for his WPT appearances, he managed to finish in the money 6 times and he took part in one final table.
